Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge in Northern Ireland. 

The bridge is old and shakes in the wind, and yet people cross it every day. It's almost a dare to conquer the bridge. This is a moment in time that one must self-govern: do I cross or do I live comfortably? Do I allow this seemingly dangerous path to keep me from seeing the beauty on the other side, or do I stay over here where it is also beautiful, but I may never know the destination?

This is the photo I posted online when I committed to CU Boulder in 2016. I had been flipping back and forth between colleges for weeks, and finally decided that CU was my destiny. That same day, a postcard from Oberlin arrived saying that I had been accepted off of the waitlist. This was perhaps the biggest decision of my life, but I felt like I had absolutely no autonomy. The world would want me to go to Oberlin but my parents and the financial situation did not. The final decision was mine!
